What can you ever really know of other people's souls — of their temptations, their opportunities, their struggles? One soul in the whole of creation you do know: and it is the only one whose fate is placed in your hands. If there is a God, you are, in a sense, alone with Him.

As a Christian, I believe the every person is created in the image of our creator and, because of this, everyone holds infinite value and worth. However, our relationship to our creator was broken long ago. This brokenness is evident in our internal struggle with selfishness and willful self-centered desires. These desires separate us from the most important relationship in our lives and leave us searching for peace, belonging, and security. Put simply, we all live disordered lives and move through life looking to reorder our self.

Many people journey through life seeking to create identity and find security in relationship and self. These concepts have often been explored in psychology and much has been made of the importance of identity formation and secure attachment. It is my belief that we find our fulfillment, safety and our truest self in relationship, relationship with the living God through the person Jesus. In this relationship we find the most transformational elements: faith, grace, mercy, hope and love – a balance to our self-focused disorder.
